The opportunity

Job Summary:

The Office of Diversity Programs provides accessible and inclusive transportation services for SNHU students through three shuttle options:

Off Campus Shuttle: Operates Saturdays during the academic year (12-8 p.m.) to the Target Plaza in Hooksett (Khol's Five Below, Dollar Store, Great Clips), Market Basket and Walmart. During the summer, the shuttle runs on Thursday afternoons (5-8 p.m.)

First Friday Shuttle: Runs monthly on the first Friday (6-10 p.m.) to The Mall of New Hampshire, Chunky's Movie Theater/Remix, and Burlington. (during the academic year only)

Airport Shuttle: Available by reservation at the start of each semester (fall and spring) to/from Logan Airport and Manchester Airport.

As a student Shuttle Driver, you will provide courteous, safe, and efficient transportation services while gaining valuable transferable skills in professionalism, communication, critical thinking, and technology. You'll also represent the university in a way that supports a welcoming and inclusive community. Shuttle Drivers are able to sign up for shifts based on their availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport students to and from designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

  • Follow pre-planned routes and schedules to ensure timely arrival at destinations.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle interior, contributing to a positive rider experience.

  • Conduct and log pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance concerns, safety issues or incidents promptly to your supervisor.

  • Demonstrate excellent customer service when interacting with passengers and assisting with loading/unloading as needed

  • Complete student rider logs and communicate scheduled delays or changes to the supervisor and passengers in real time.

  • Attend the required initial training and participate in ongoing monthly meetings to reflect on and improve your service, performance, and awareness of student needs.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with at least two years of driving experience
  • Clean driving record (free of major violations or substantial accidents)
  • Ability to become an SNHU approved driver with includes a brief driver training and quiz and a review of your driving record
  • Comfortable operating a 7-passenger mini-van or SUV in various weather conditions
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program at SNHU
  • Must be in good standing at the time of hire and throughout employment. Students with a previous conduct history will be considered on an individual basis.
  • Students with Federal Work-Study may be prioritized

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
