Job Description
This role will support the department in achieving manufacturing metrics by ensuring employee training is completed, ensuring translated work instructions/job aids are consistent and accurate, and other duties as directed.The interpreter is responsible for using their knowledge of multiple languages to help employees communicate with one another, despite language barriers. They are responsible for translating any verbal communication (questions, requests, meetings, etc.) clearly from one language into another language. They serve as a main point of contact for non-English speaking colleagues. WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Acts as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities
- Assist in interviewing potential Spanish Speaking candidates
- Provide one on one training to new and existing employees, along with monitoring progress that includes:
- Floor Training 90% of time
- Classroom Training/ other duties as assigned 10% of time
- Train and further develop skill sets of Spanish speaking colleagues within the plant
- Verifies that training requirements have been satisfactorily met for position and qualifications, including proficiency testing.
- If an employee does not satisfactorily meet requirements or does not demonstrate proficiency for any item, Shift Trainer must be comfortable not signing somebody off until those requirements are met.
- Training Plan sign-off for new and existing employees to include cross training plans
- Builds relationships with department management on employee training plans in order to drive accountability and action
- Plays a vital role in Change Management Activities via the department
- Plays a vital role in the orientation and onboarding of new colleagues to include:
- New Colleague Main point of contact during onboarding process
- New Colleague trainer for the first several weeks of employment
- Other Orientation responsibilities as assigned

- Experience in assisting on multiple pieces of equipment within the Coating department
- Willingness to learn new machines or areas of the plant to a minimum of a level 3 proficiency
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner such that they are respected by their peers and internal customers
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Self-Driven and Motivated with a Continuous Improvement Mindset
- Ability to Navigate a changing environment
