What you'll be doing:

We're expanding our Cloud Security team at Verizon and are looking for individuals who are eager to learn and develop their security skills in the dynamic and growing field of cloud security. In this role, you'll help our team implement cloud security-based technologies across various platforms and cloud providers. Our Cloud Security team needs skilled professionals who understand cloud security to meet business demands and support our customers.

As a Cloud Security Architect, you'll design scalable, cloud-native solutions that work across multiple cloud environments. You'll leverage available cloud technologies and services, along with your innovative thinking, to address complex technical and security challenges.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Architecting, designing, and automating security & governance frameworks across our cloud environments.

  • Designing for high availability, scalability, and maintainability, ensuring our cloud infrastructure, including AI/ML workloads, is resilient.

  • Assessing trade-offs between different solutions, making sound choices that balance security, performance, and cost.

  • Integrating on-premises and cloud resources, building seamless and secure hybrid architectures.

  • Implementing processes that minimize downtime, including comprehensive monitoring, robust testing, and incident post-mortem analysis.

  • Proactively strengthening the security of proposed solutions (application; cloud architecture), with specific attention to AI/ML security best practices.

  • Collaborating with engineering teams to implement security remediations and automation techniques.

  • Providing leadership in leveraging advanced capabilities for automation and integration across hybrid processing environments (LDAP, SSO, CI/CD, Cloud APIs, Messaging, Web, microservices, SaaS, ServiceNow, Networking).

  • Conducting Proofs of Concept (POCs) on new services from security and risk standpoints, creating access management frameworks based on the principle of least privilege.

  • Ensuring service availability and continuity through proper response to threat incidents and requests.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Four or more years of experience with GCP.

  • Hands-on experience with GCP products, various deployment environments, storage options, BigQuery, Vertex, etc.

  • Experience managing multi cloud security controls and security management from a centralized system.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Hands on experience in multiple cloud environments including AWS, GCP, OCI and Azure.

  • Experience with serverless services, Kubernetes (K8) architecture, service mesh, Data lakes, MLOps, secret management, and encryption techniques.

  • Proven experience implementing security architecture on cloud platforms.

  • Knowledge of AI/ML Security in GCP: Securing Vertex AI and custom models, protecting training/inference data guarding against prompt injection, model tampering, and data leakage.

  • Expertise with Security Platforms: Google SCC, Chronicle, Cloud Armor, VPC SC, Open Policy Agent (OPA), CSPM tools .

  • DevSecOps, Automation and CI/CD security controls / DevOps experience with Docker, Jenkins, Ansible Etc.

  • Experience designing Zero Trust architectures leveraging BeyondCorp Enterprise, IAM, IAP, and context-aware access.

  • Architect and implement secure GCP infrastructure and services, including Identity, Network, Compute, Storage, Data, and AI services.

  • Knowledge of API, Microservices, network and security architectures and design patterns.

  • Consistent track record of shaping and integrating complex infrastructure in the cloud.

  • Well-versed in cloud security patterns and compliance areas like PII, PCI-DSS, CPNI, etc.

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, Go, Terraform, etc.

  • Experience working with audit teams for cloud environments.

  • Experience on Cloud Security & Governance practices and frameworks.

  • Experience in conducting detailed product reviews for cloud SAAS products.

  • Experience with the use of GenAI to improve traditional security operations.

  • Experience with reviewing new cloud services against enterprise security standards.

  • Deliver executive-level reporting on application security risks, strategy, and program effectiveness.

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $137,000.00 - $263,000.00.
