Position Summary

The Manager, Employee/Occupational Health Nurse will lead and manage occupational health services for manufacturing operations across Wisconsin and provide oversight to nurses supporting the Apogee Architectural Metals segment. The role focuses on ensuring the health, safety, and wellness of employees while driving alignment of best practices, compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety and well-being across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Oversight

  • Manage and support a team of occupational health nurses across multiple locations within the Metals segment.

  • Develop and implement standardized protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent delivery of occupational health services.

  • Serve as a key resource for site leaders and HR teams on health and safety matters, providing expertise in nursing and employee health.

  • Monitor team performance and provide professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Employee Health and Wellness

  • Oversee health assessments, workplace injury response, case management, and return-to-work programs.

  • Lead efforts to promote employee wellness programs, including vaccinations, health screenings, and preventive care initiatives.

  • Ensure effective management of occupational health records and confidentiality compliance.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and other applicable workplace health regulations.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to policies and regulatory standards.

  • Investigate and analyze workplace injury trends, developing strategies to mitigate risks.

  • Collaborate with safety teams to identify and address potential health hazards.

Best Practices Alignment

  • Standardize occupational health practices across Metals sites to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among the nursing team to implement evidence-based practices.

  • Partner with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to develop and refine health-related programs and policies.

Data and Reporting

  • Analyze and report on key health metrics, including injury rates, wellness program participation, and case management outcomes.

  • Leverage data to inform strategic decisions and improve health outcomes for employees.

  • Prepare and deliver reports to leadership on occupational health initiatives and compliance status.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related field preferred.

Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin (or eligibility for licensure).

  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN/COHN-S) preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in occupational health nursing, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Proven leadership experience managing a team of healthcare professionals.

  • Experience with multi-site operations and aligning practices across diverse teams.

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Analytical skills to assess injury trends and develop targeted interventions.

  • Proficiency in health management systems and reporting tools.

Work Conditions

Travel

  • Regular travel between three Wisconsin locations and occasional travel to other Metals sites as needed (up to 10%).
