Part Time Internship

Pay rate : $300 per month for first/foundation year interns

$400 per month for second/concentration year

Job Summary

This position provides voluntary behavioral health services (offered in person, by phone, or virtually) to Denver Metro area residents aged 18 and older. The role also supports housing navigators and their clients on an as-needed basis.

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

  • Deliver behavioral health services such as individual therapy, consultation, treatment planning, goal development, and group facilitation.

  • Provide case management and connect clients with appropriate internal and external resources.

  • Assist housing navigators and clients with housing stability planning, documentation, and access to services.

  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations to support client needs.

  • Support agency and program goals through training development, identifying training opportunities, and completing related tasks.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain timely and accurate data entry into Service Source client database and others as appropriate.

  • Participate in Service Source team meetings and non-Service Source conferences/meeting as appropriate.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development to add value to Service Source programs.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

Experience:

  • Current enrollment in a CSWE-accredited Master of Social Work program required.

  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience directly serving vulnerable populations preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field preferred.

  • Preference given to students in their concentration (second) year, though foundation (first) year students will also be considered.

  • Interest in working directly with individuals facing barriers to employment, including disability, homelessness, housing instability, or justice involvement required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word preferred.

  • Flexibility to work independently and collaboratively, adapt to change, and manage multiple tasks preferred.

  • Creative, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, evolving nonprofit environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to engage effectively and respectfully with diverse individuals, support networks, and community partners required.

  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and commitment to social justice preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Skilled in writing routine reports and professional correspondence

  • Comfortable speaking effectively with individuals and presenting to groups

  • Proficient in calculating figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages

  • Able to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts

  • Strong problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization

  • Capable of interpreting written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions

  • Attention to detail when handling technical or procedural information

  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication

  • Analytical thinking and sound judgment in practical situations

  • Cultural competency, humility, and adherence to professional ethical standards (e.g., NASW or ACA Code of Ethics).

  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Supervision Received

Close Supervision: The incumbent is assigned duties according to specified procedure and receives detailed instructions. Work is checked frequently.
