Utility Loader/Gauger (CVLA)

PURPOSE:

This Loader position is responsible for rail car loading/unloading activities, truck loading / unloading, including tank gauging, pipeline and Fitch Station operations. Individual should be able to work independently, with minimum supervision.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Knowledge of refinery safety and environmental procedures
• 
  

  Load / Unload both truck and rail cars.

  
  
• 
  

  Operate the Pipeline and Fitch Station.

  
  
• 
  

  Monthly Tank Gauging.

  
  
• 
  

  Training and Onboarding New Truck Drivers.

  
  
• 
  

  Monitoring Loading and Unloading of Crude, ATB, CV Naphtha, LPG, Jet and Diesel unloading.

  
  
• 
  

  Tank Sampling and Tank swaps for Loading.

  
  
• 
  

  Write Permits including Safe Work, Hot Work, LOTO, Vehicle Entry for both Rail and Truck Areas.

  
  
• 
  

  Fire Brigade Member to respond to Emergencies.

  
  
• 
  

  General Cleanup - Washdown of Loading areas.

  
  
  

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of Company defined training program(s)
• 
  

  Completion of all training requirements necessary to perform the duties noted above.

  Obtain certifications as required i.e. DOT, FRA, LDNR...

  
  

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:

• Prefer prior work experience in plant environment

Physical Requirements

• Must pass company physical that evaluates ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, pull and lift
• Must meet requirements to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds constantly
• Able to work both inside and outside, during all seasons
• For Fire Brigade Requirements, Must be able to demonstrate that he or she can safely perform the following activities:
• Perform full functional range of motion with squatting and with bending at the waist and be able to perform them repetitively.
• Lift 50 pounds from the ground to shoulder height.
• Carry 50 pounds with both hands for 100 feet.
• Carry 25 pounds with one hand for 100 feet.
• Perform reaching overhead for prolonged periods.
• Perform kneeling for a prolonged period.
• Climb 50 steps.
