Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM- 5PM

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for reviewing patient documentation turned in by field clinicians for accuracy
  • Prepares all physician orders and plan of treatments for the community liaison to return to the physician's office for signature
  • Assist community liaisons with preparing spreadsheets of outstanding physician orders/plans of care for medical directors on weekly basis
  • Reviews and clears out print que daily
  • Scans documentation into patient's electronic medical records (EMR) daily
  • Faxes communication notes, missed visits, discharge summaries and transfer summaries to physicians daily
  • Contacts field clinicians for corrections on paperwork submitted, as needed
  • Maintains all physician orders, referral information, and service notes from all disciplines, lab reports, and other clinical documentation in an organized manner
  • Assists with phone calls in office providing excellent customer service
  • Communicates messages for Clinical Team Manager (CTM) regarding physician orders and patients' concerns
  • Reviews outstanding documentation lists daily, works with CTMs on current lists for completion from field clinicians
  • Assists with managing and ordering of the home health nursing supplies, maintaining supply room with adequate supplies and sufficient par levels
  • Perform general clerical duties in support of patient services. These include, but are not limited to, answering phones, copying, faxing
  • Responsible for checking email, HALO's, team messaging system and voicemail to respond to time-sensitive messages from customers, managers, and leadership
  • Ensures that the contract therapy invoices are reviewed weekly for accuracy and processed/submitted to accounting department for payment
  • Demonstrates personal responsibility regarding attendance and punctuality and adheres to the code of conduct policy set forth by UHG
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by manager

  • Independent problem identification/resolution and decision making skills
  • Must be able to prioritize, plan, and handle multiple tasks, demands simultaneously
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a medical office
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in PC software
  • Typing speed is a minimum of 40 WPM


Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical and/or office environment
  • ICD 9 and CPT coding experience
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proven ability to mentor and train others

The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
