Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for Environmental Services staff development and training, housekeeping equipment, cleaning supplies, budget compliance, quality assessment plus monitors for improvement. Manage daily operations of the environmental services department, including staff scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and adherence to hospital policies. Ensure all hospital areas are cleaned and sanitized according to established protocols, while monitoring and enforcing infection control practices. Stay current with state and federal regulations related to hospital cleanliness, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards. Oversee inventory and maintenance of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely repairs or replacements. Conduct regular inspections to meet cleanliness standards and implement quality control programs, including audits and feedback mechanisms. Develop and conduct training on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, infection control, and inform staff of new procedures and regulatory changes. Ensure staff follow proper safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and using personal protective equipment (PPE). Address cleanliness concerns and collaborate with other departments to support overall hospital operations. Maintain records of cleaning schedules, inspections, incidents, inventory, and submit reports on departmental performance and compliance. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent Must have a minimum of two years of supervisory experience or equivalent in environmental services, preferably in a hospital/clinical environment or a commercial cleaning service Computer experience necessary, competent computer skills in Windows, Excel, Epic, and payroll system. Excellent communication skills Bilingual a plus Crucial conversation skills preferred
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Salary Range: $37.97 - $56.96 USD Hourly
