OUR IMPACT

The Global Risk Management team is uniquely positioned within the firm as part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Our global fund complex and separately managed account portfolios cover a wide range of assets classes, global markets, and strategies. The team is responsible for independent oversight and risk governance covering all elements of risks including market risk, liquidity risk, counterparty risk, operational risk as well as risk governance and oversight of dedicated regulated legal entities via designated CRO roles. We are looking to strengthen our team with a colleague in Dallas, where the Global Risk Management team continues to expand its footprint.

This position is within the global Counterparty Risk team. The team regularly interacts with a wide range of teams across Goldman Sachs Asset Management including Portfolio Management, Trading desks, Legal and Compliance, Trade Management, as well as various Federation groups that cover the asset management business, to effectively monitor risk and continually improve upon our risk governance framework. The team is also responsible for risk monitoring and regulatory reporting for the global fund complex.

How You Will Fulfil Your Potential

Responsibilities



  • Daily/weekly monitoring of the risks associated with GSAM funds across different investment strategies
  • Perform risk analysis on GSAM fund or client mandate level credit risk as well as overall counterparty exposures
  • Developing, implementing, and enhancing counterparty credit risk metrics
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Trading, Legal and other key stakeholders
  • Ensuring adherence with the independent risk governance framework
  • Coordinate with Trading, Legal, Operations and Compliance departments to approve derivatives business and ensure appropriate documentation, limits and risk mitigants are in place to protect against a counterparty default and minimize potential losses
  • Analyze the counterparty credit risks inherent in the products GS transacts, including lending, trading and derivative products
  • Follow and interpret relevant regulatory and industry developments which can impact counterparty risks including derivatives trading regulation.
  • Providing detailed counterparty risk updates and reports to senior AM Risk Management and regulators as required.


Skills & Experience



  • 2-5 years of experience in risk management
  • Strong academic record with a degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in asset management products including fixed income products and derivatives advantageous
  • Must have strong experience in measuring, monitoring, analyzing and reporting risk exposures
  • Detail oriented with a strong control mentality. Ability to demonstrate involvement in process improvement initiatives required
  • Acute and pro-active interest in financial markets
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and assertive with a "can-do" attitude.
  • Strong team player, able to work with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
