Job Description Johnson County Public Works is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Civil Engineer III in the Engineering Division in Olathe, KS. This position will provide engineering leadership on County culvert, bridge and road projects in a fun, collaborative, high performance environment that emphasizes teamwork. Job duties of the Civil Engineer III may include: Administer the Operations & Construction Engineering by designing culvert, bridge and road projects in the unincorporated area of Johnson County. Create Scopes of Service and Contracts for survey and design projects and assume the role of Contract Administration for projects designed by consultants. Create and manage construction specifications, create bid documents and manage project bid lists on the County website. Responsible for the creation of briefing sheets and attending County Manager and Board of County Commissioners meeting to facilitate approval of construction contracts.
Job Requirements A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a Kansas Professional Engineer License are required. (Licensing in the state of Kansas may be required based on assignment. If a Kansas license is required, six months will be provided to complete the reciprocity process.) Eight (8) years of related infrastructure, construction, design, or project management experience is required *Education may be substituted for experience. |
