The Early Childhood Innovation Center (ECIC) and the Institute for Human Development (IHD) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC)

Job Description

ECIC is seeking an experienced and resourceful leader to become the Project Coordinator for the Missouri Quality Assurance Report (QAR) project. This role is highly collaborative and is a key contributor to the successful development, implementation, and expansion of the QAR. This position will drive this quality initiative through state-wide implementation while working closely with project funders.

The Project Coordinator will:

  • Implement program policy in coordination with ECIC administration and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Office of Childhood for the QAR.
  • Conduct and facilitate weekly QAR team lead meeting to further project implementation.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the project scope of work and operational budget.
  • Conduct and facilitate weekly QAR project team meetings, including planning and facilitation on-going team professional development.
  • Oversee human resources implementation, including hiring, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
  • Engage with project principal investigator and project coordinators, serving in a leadership capacity at ECIC and IHD.
  • Monitor and report on project implementation both internally and externally.

Reporting Structure:

The Program Coordinator reports directly to the ECIC Associate Director. This position supervises the Team Leads assigned to the project.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, or closely related field.

Demonstrated relevant experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills:

  • Extensive experience supervising program staff.
  • Experience in program management and implementation.
  • Self-driven performance and initiative with strong skills organizing and managing more than one project at a time
  • Experience with developing training and written materials for broad dissemination and use (such as: reports, publications, curriculum, tools/resources for individuals and families)
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed
Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated starting salary of $80,000 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
