Job Description: As the Manager of Sales Insights supporting Southwest Business, you'll lead a high-performing Team of Analysts who transform complex Customer data into actionable insights that drive strategic decisions and fuel business growth. Your Team will harness transaction, travel, and engagement data to help corporate partners understand their Customers, uncover opportunities, and deliver experiences that delight while moving key business metrics. You'll coach your Team in both technical excellence and storytelling, while ensuring insights are not only accurate but also compelling and actionable for both internal stakeholders and external partners. In this role, you'll also guide the development of advanced analytics, modeling, and self-service tools like dashboards and reporting systems. By identifying and leading initiatives across sales, analytics, and operations, you'll help shape the future of Southwest Business. This role's leadership will directly influence how we grow our corporate partnerships and ensure more business travelers choose Southwest, and they'll make a measurable impact on our growth, our Brand, and the Customers we serve.

Responsibilities
- Deliver revenue driving account strategies and tactics that maximize ROI
- Create and manage the work plan to translate business data/reporting needs from conception to delivery
- Co-create and deliver the contract strategy to maximize agreements and campaigns to drive revenue and share growth
- Drive continuous improvement in the sales and reporting processes by recognizing inadequacies, proactively recommending changes, and identifying automation opportunities to improve the usability and effectiveness of analytics
- Partner with the Sales Team to develop effective selling tools and presentations, and join Customer meetings to navigate difficult negotiations while delivering insights, opportunities, QBRs, and RFPs
- Train selling, negotiating, and storytelling techniques to guarantee objectives, KPIs and goals are achieved from sales teams
- Lead others on the application of mathematics, statistics, and/or advanced modeling methods to discover and gain insights on business problems; create, monitor, and manage entities; and/or develop predictive or prescriptive capabilities in creative ways
- Collaborate with other Departments (Marketing, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Data Science, Financial Planning & Analysis) to identify and source business critical data for incorporation into business proposals and reporting
- Lead Department projects; provide facilitation and consultation regarding analytics strategies
- Execute and drive operational cross departmental initiatives often as assigned by the Leader
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, economics, and their applications
- Knowledge of the principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
- Knowledge of the principles and methods for moving People or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
- Skilled in identifying, collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data which may also include turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
- Skilled in persuading others to change their minds or behavior, especially through the use of data and compelling storytelling
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
- Ability to clearly articulate complex topics and distilled insights to a variety of audiences, bridging the gap between data and stakeholders
- Ability to listen, understand, and communicate ideas via writing, speaking with others, or presenting to a group
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
- Ability to independently transform raw data into clear and actionable insights, clearly communicate and influence others, execute strategies, and adapt for performance across a variety of entities (companies, customers, industries, etc.)
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading team(s)
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
- Revenue generating activities, sales analysis, or business operations
- People development, training, or program management
- Selling, negotiating, or influencing stakeholders to enact change through compelling storytelling
- Advanced use of data prep tools (such as Alteryx or similar products)
- Advanced use of data visualization software (such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Expert use of SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets
- Expert use of Microsoft Excel
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information
- Air travel with frequent overnight stays required (~25%)
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive market salary from $128,350 per year to $142,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
