The Senior Planner will support strategic healthcare planning initiatives for federal clients by performing advanced analytics, modeling healthcare delivery systems, and contributing to regional and facility-level planning efforts. Working closely with architects, engineers, and project leadership, the Senior Planner will deliver high-impact insights that drive federal healthcare infrastructure strategies. This role requires strong experience in data-driven planning, healthcare systems forecasting, and the development of master plans and operational evaluations-particularly in support of Department of Defense (DoD) projects.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Senior Healthcare Facility Planner: $
Pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of healthcare delivery data, including patient volumes, provider utilization, and facility capacity.
  • Support the development of facility master plans, regional system strategies, and clinical program assessments.
  • Model future healthcare utilization and delivery needs using forecasting tools and DoD/MHS metrics.
  • Prepare planning scenarios and options that inform executive decision-making regarding facility optimization and investment.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and DHA/DoD clients to ensure alignment with federal healthcare strategies and policies.
  • Support space programming, service line analysis, and strategic facility positioning within larger military healthcare networks.
  • Present findings and recommendations through clear visualizations, briefings, and written reports tailored to executive audiences.
  • Contributes to the creation of long-range strategic planning documents, business cases, and Healthcare Requirements Analyses (HCRAs).
  • Interface with design and construction teams to integrate planning outcomes into project execution phases.

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities Requested:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Healthcare Planning, or related discipline.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or Certified Health Facility Planner (CHFP) is desirable.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare planning, with federal sector exposure strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Department of Defense, VA, or other military healthcare programs.
  • Familiarity with DoD design/construction practices and Military Health System (MHS) planning frameworks.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of healthcare planning and data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, GIS, Excel modeling).
  • Deep understanding of healthcare utilization metrics, patient throughput, service line alignment, and facility programming.
  • Skilled in developing and presenting strategic options using data-driven planning methodologies.

Abilities:

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable planning outcomes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across technical and executive levels.
  • Experience supporting the development of capital planning documents, HCRAs, and multi-site healthcare evaluations.
