JOB TITLE:

Residence Coordinator, Residence Life

JOB PURPOSE:

This is a live-in position that coordinates the operational, personnel, and program functions for designated areas within Residence Life. Focuses on supervision & staff development, community building, advising & leadership, and crisis response & conflict resolution.

This position involves on-call status.

This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook . Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide exceptional leadership and coordinate daily operations for residential community.
  • Train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate team of Resident Assistants.
  • Organize work schedules of student-staff and oversee front customer service desk operations.
  • Coordinate the implementation and evaluation of academic, social, and developmental programming utilizing Residential Curriculum.
  • Address personal/interpersonal conflict & student behavioral issues.
  • Adjudicate student conduct meetings.
  • Serve in on-call rotation responding to incidents & emergency situations on-campus.
  • Follow emergency protocols and train student staff in safety procedures.
  • Confer with and refer students to appropriate University, community, or state resources, as necessary.
  • Ensure proper levels of custodial, grounds and facility maintenance; provide mail and referral services.
  • Support the department and university with retention and recruitment efforts.
  • Support and enforce University policies and regulations and provide interpretation to students.
  • Actively promote the University of Wyoming and the department.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist Housing & Dining with student concerns, marketing, outreach, etc.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support Residence Life goals and initiatives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field

Experience: At least 2 years work-related experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: None

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, or other related field
  • Knowledge of student development principles, practices, and procedures
  • Experience supervising, training, and evaluating student staff
  • Experience with crisis management and serving on-call for residential communities
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple and challenging deadlines

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.
