Continuous Improvement Project Coordinator

The CI Project Coordinator is responsible for directing process improvement activities to ensure that the overall business objectives are achieved. Provide support, guidance and action to drive lean behaviors targeting elimination of waste and variation from our manufacturing and business processes.

This role will be based in our Broadway facility in Hanover, PA. The required shift is dayshift, Monday-Friday, with flexibility required to work various shifts as needed.

What You'll Do



  • Work closely with the CI leadership and site leadership team to establish and implement lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Will be responsible for providing coaching and mentoring on project management skills, team facilitation, project execution and development of project cost savings.
  • Work with area managers/supervisors regarding process improvement opportunities within their organizations.
  • Develop and maintain business performance measures and conduct analysis of data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop & deliver presentations and basic training courses associated with process improvement.
  • Ensure operational activities adhere to lean standards i.e. material flow, set-up reduction, 6S & workplace organization, communication cells, TPM, etc.
  • Establish a program to develop and maintain standard operating procedures for existing processes and procedures.
  • Support development and usage of key manufacturing systems, i.e. Redzone, ERP, CMMS, Production labeling software, and BI reports.
  • Integration of Lean methodology/principles with other improvement initiatives, i.e. Safe Quality Food, Safety, etc.
  • Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.


What You Bring



  • Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineer preferred or relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 working experience with implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma methodology, Green Belt certification preferred and ability to achieve Black Belt certification
  • Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry with packaging and processing equipment desired


Skills:



  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other database programs
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, highly motivated, and organized with the ability to prioritize and follow through
  • Ability to travel to other plants to support CI implementation
  • Must be able to work in a proactive work environment, be an effective motivator, and trainer of people
  • Must possess or have the aptitude and ability to quickly develop an in-depth working knowledge of applicable company procedures
  • Show willingness to tackle new tasks and grow professionally as experience grows
  • Ability to work flexible hours to manage a multi shift operation
