Responsibilities

ALTOUR is seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to assist in the overall daily requirements of the ALTOUR Finance department including but not limited to the analysis of financial information and preparation of financial reports to determine or maintain a record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities.

Preference for candidates residing around the twin cities metro area. This is a work from home role with the occasional meeting in our Plymouth, MN office.

    Maintains general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly, and setting up new accounts.
  • Coordinate monthly financial closing and analyze income-related accounts for reasonableness to provide financial reports to division and corporate management.
  • Compile financial data for the preparation of period end financials statements and related footnotes, and corporate tax reporting to comply with federal and state government requirements.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and various balance sheet account controls to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Reconcile credit card payments made by agents to vendor payables.
  • Assist internal/external auditors in performing initial financial department audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare financial data and calculate revenue shares and settlements for various joint ventures.
  • Reconcile receipts from large suppliers and calculate intercompany revenue shares.
  • Assist with accounting for the Meetings and Incentives division.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2+ plus years' accounting experience
  • Customer service and strong team orientation
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products especially Excel and Word
  • Detail Oriented with high level of attention to financial accuracy.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are required

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional travel may be required
