Talent Acquisition Specialist, Commercial (US Sales, Marketing & Medical Education)

What will you be doing?

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for advising business leaders to understand workforce needs and develop talent acquisition strategies to source, attract and hire best-in-class talent. It is critical that the recruiter meets expected service levels and key performance metrics to drive superior customer service by developing efficient talent solutions to meet the needs of the business.

This position will supporting the Commercial (Sales, Marketing and Medical Education) business in the US.

In this role, you will work closely with Commercial HR leaders-including HRCs, HRBPs, business leaders, and hiring managers-to design and implement strategic recruitment solutions tailored to current hiring needs. You will also proactively develop strategies to address future workforce planning. You will continuously assess existing recruitment practices, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. By leveraging technology, you will improve talent sourcing, engagement, and pipeline development.

You will plan, support, and attend recruitment events aligned with organizational goals, and contribute to reducing agency dependency through the development of internal recruiting programs.

In your day-to-day delivery, you will manage the full-cycle recruitment process-from sourcing and screening to evaluating candidates and integrating them into the organization-ensuring alignment with both role requirements and company culture. You will operate effectively in a multi-country recruitment environment, using tools like MS Teams, email, and phone to collaborate remotely, while also engaging in person when needed. You will lead initiatives to improve recruiting workflows and maintain strong consultative relationships with HR and business unit leaders. You will ensure compliance with Smith & Nephew policies and maintain accurate documentation throughout the recruitment process.

What will you need to be successful?

  • As a candidate for this role, you will hold a Bachelor's degree or possess equivalent related experience that prepares you for success in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • You will need a minimum of 5 years of experience in recruiting or a similarly client-focused role, ideally supporting a commercial organization such as Sales and Marketing.

  • You will have a strong understanding of U.S. business needs and demonstrate a proven ability to attract top talent through sourcing tools, social media, networking, and other innovative strategies.

  • Your analytical and reporting skills will be essential in driving data-informed recruitment decisions.

  • Experience with recruiting platforms such as an Applicant Tracking System-preferably Workday-and interviewing tools like HireVue will be highly valued.

  • Additionally, you will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint to support effective communication and collaboration.

Travel: Up to 10%

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $85,250 - $115,000 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
