Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The mission of the School of Nursing is to enhance and improve the health and well-being of the people of North Carolina and the nation, and, as relevant and appropriate, the people of other nations, through its programs of education, research, and scholarship, and through clinical practice and community service. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing has been the leader in nursing education in North Carolina throughout its history. Established in 1950, it was the first school of nursing in North Carolina to offer a four-year baccalaureate nursing degree program followed by the first master's degree program, the first continuing education program for nurses, first doctoral program, and first accelerated BSN option to students with college degrees. Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to administer and coordinate a variety of fiscal functions for the Office of Administrative Services ( OAS). The position oversees the full-cycle processing of financial forms prepared by SON faculty/staff, preparing them for payment by the University accounting office. The administration of non-personnel funds on state, F&A, trust and receipt-supported accounts are also a responsibility of the position. This position requires the incumbent to give great attention to detail and have knowledge of budgeting policies. The position will train new Nursing School state/trust accounting personnel on internal/external accounting procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The individual in this position must possess strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, have the ability to multi-task, and pay close attention to detail. A thorough knowledge of Word and Excel is essential (Access is a plus.)
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer experience with Connect Carolina and Infoporte.
