TITLE

Manager of Student Success and External Relations

JOB SUMMARY

Performs responsible work in managing daily operations and strategic initiatives for the College. This role requires strong initiative, judgment, and independent thinking, with supervisory responsibilities. Key duties include overseeing student engagement programs, coordinating recruitment and retention efforts, supervising advising staff, managing communications and social media, and serving as a liaison with university departments. Work is performed under moderate direction and evaluated based on results and adherence to university policies.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Student Affairs, College of Health Sciences

Supervises: Will supervise Academic Advisors and may supervise Student Assistants

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:



  1. Manages implementation of college initiatives - i.e. student advisory board, peer mentoring, etc.
  2. Acts as liaison between CHS and University Academic Advising, Admissions, Curriculum and Strategic Initiatives, etc., sharing information appropriately.
  3. Participate in CHS student recruitment and retention efforts.
  4. Directs recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of academic advisors and related staff
  5. Manages CHS recruitment efforts in conjunction with CHS academic advisors, recruitment and retention ambassadors, admissions, and others.
  6. Manages college retention efforts for FTIC and transfer students
  7. Manages CHS social media accounts.
  8. Audits and updates CHS webpages.
  9. Shares college wide and external communications.
  10. Facilitate marketing and communication opportunities with CHS marketing personnel.
  11. Coordinates Alumni Affairs.


ADDITIONAL DUTIES



  • Performs other duties as requested.


EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required. Related experience may substitute for the required degree on a two-for-one-year basis.

EXPERIENCE

Three years of progressively responsible job-related experience is required.

REQUIREMENT

Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

All employees share the responsibility of maintaining information security and privacy requirements within the university by adhering to Federal and State regulations, and TWU Policies & Procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential:



  1. Working knowledge of office practices and methods.
  2. Knowledge of higher education operations, especially in student services, advising, recruitment, and retention.
  3. Understanding of University policies and procedures.
  4. Familiarity with FERPA and other student privacy laws.
  5. Ability to coordinate work with other employees, providing direct instruction or supervision as assigned.
  6. Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
  9. Ability to represent the College and University in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  10. Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.
  11. Exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making.
  12. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  13. Ability to analyze data to inform recruitment and retention strategies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
