Main position objectives
The Machine Shop Workflow Coordinator plays a crucial role in optimizing operations within the die plate machine shop. This position involves several key responsibilities, including meticulously scheduling production activities, processing engineering packets for the shop floor, and effectively communicating schedule statuses and any changes to both internal team members and external customers.
In this role, the coordinator manages materials related to the Maag family of equipment, particularly focusing on die plates and associated components, ensuring that all necessary items are available when needed to maintain workflow efficiency. The coordinator operates independently while also collaborating with other team members to ensure seamless operations.

Moreover, the Workflow Coordinator will actively engage in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and implementing best practices to increase productivity and quality within the machine shop. This includes leading projects that analyze current workflows, facilitating training sessions, and employing data-driven strategies to drive positive change.

Position description - Tasks, responsibilities, competencies
(List 8-10 specific tasks - start each description indicating an action e.g. leads, advises, develops etc.)
* Monitor the die plate manufacturing schedule to ensure that individual orders are on track for timely delivery.
* Collaborate with the Die Plate Manager and Lead CNC Programmer to identify tooling needs and source necessary tools.
* Follow up on the status of purchase orders for materials and outside services to maintain the on-time delivery of finished die plate products.
* Work constructively with the entire Die Plate Team to suggest and implement improvements in workflow, processes, and technical documentation.
* Assist or take the lead on Continuous Improvement efforts with the Die Plate Team.
* Cross-train on all work cells within the shop.
* Perform other tasks as assigned.

Work Environment
* Work in this position is in an office and a factory floor environment, either locally or at a customer site. While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.
