Responsible for specializing in the implantation and management of pacemakers.

Essential Functions
-Prepare patients for pacemaker implantation by explaining the procedure and answering any questions they may have.

-Assist the physician during the pacemaker implantation procedure.

-Program the pacemaker and adjusting its settings as needed.

-Monitor patients after pacemaker implantation to ensure that the device is functioning properly and that the patient is not experiencing any complications.

-Educate patients on the proper care and maintenance of their pacemakers.

-Troubleshoot and repair pacemakers as needed.

-Maintain accurate and detailed records of each patient's pacemaker implantation and management.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Licenses and Credentials
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred

Experience
Completion of a Pacemaker Technician training program or equivalent work experience. 1-2 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system.
- Knowledge of pacemaker equipment and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and computer systems used for medical record keeping.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
