General Purpose

The Seasonal Associate is an entry level position that will contribute to the Retail sectors of Customer Service and Lending. The Associate will work closely with Customer Service Representatives and Lenders, gaining valuable insight into the Community Banking business. This is a seasonal, non-benefitted position.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service by establishing a working relationship with internal and external customers through effective communication.
  • Practices exceptional service with customers using available training programs and measurement tools.
  • Understands Alpine Bank consumer and business products and services.
  • Provides support to Teller Line through deposit processing, drawer balancing, vault balancing, wires, ATM settlement, vault cash ordering, safe deposit box entry/exit functions, and basic fraud detection and location security.
  • Uses numerous software applications to accomplish daily tasks with minimal errors.
  • Provides support to and Lending staff through items such as, but not limited to, compiles loan packets, assists in review of loan portfolio, and aids in ensuring loan agreements are complete and accurate.
  • Initiates communication with customers to gather information needed to resolve concerns.
  • Gain knowledge of the market, competition, profitability, and aligning department work with strategic goals.
  • Regular and Reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:



  • Customer service-oriented individual.
  • Good time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Understanding and application of banking compliance regulations.
  • Understanding how to identify and make recommendations to address problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Education or Formal Training:



  • High School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED) equivalency required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A) in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required, either in process or complete.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Drivers' License required.


Experience:



  • Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in banking and/or accounting and an understanding of financials preferred.


Working Conditions

Working Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting. Ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel to branch locations may be necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to move up to 50 pounds. Repetitive motion likely.

Starting Rate of Pay is from $19.50 to $24.50 per hour, depending on experience.
