Vaco is searching for a Senior Property Accounting Consultant for one of our growing real estate clients located in Atlanta (Midtown).This role is to cover a maternity leave and slated to start in late August or early September to extend until the end of the year. Our client is growing fast and the role has a chance to become long-term or potentially turn permanent, as well. Target pay is $40-$45 an hour for this consulting assignment and the role is slated to be hybrid in nature. Duties: * Accounts Receivable: o Responsible for accuracy and timely rent billing. o Responsible for reviewing aging delinquency report. o Maintain tenant ledger and work with property managers to explainvariances * Accounts Payable: o Responsible for reviewing the accuracy of invoice coding. o Research vendor inquiries. * General Ledger: o Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accrual financial statements for both internal and external users for assigned properties. o Review the general ledger for appropriate account usage, expense accruals and revenue recognition, under GAAP. o Maintain Balance Sheet account reconciliations. o Work closely with Property Managers for monthly variance explanations, monthly accruals, etc. * Meet internal and external reporting deadlines. * Assist Property Managers with Annual budgets. * Assist with special transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancing of properties. * Submit reimbursement requests to lender for loan draws and escrow expenditures as required. * Assist in the annual financial statement audit and tax return preparation. * Maintain relationship and communication with property managers. * Filing and other minimal clerical duties. * Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: * 3-5 years of experience in real estate/property management. Bachelors Degree strongly preferred * Proficiency in accounting software applications, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Office; knowledge of YARDI Voyager software and MRI is a plus. * Experience working as a property accountant in the Commercial Real Estate industry is a plus. * Self-starter with the ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail. * Willingness to work in a fast-paced, growing and entrepreneurial environment.
