The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-Newark is dedicated to attracting, admitting, and supporting students throughout their academic journey. The division includes several key areas: One Stop Student Services (which integrates the Office of Financial Aid and the Registrar's Office), the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions, and the Center for Pre-College Programs.
This Admissions Associate position will be housed within the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions, which partners closely with the academic schools and colleges at Rutgers University-Newark to recruit and enroll new graduate and undergraduate students. |
Posting Summary |
Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking an Admissions Associate (Seasonal) of First Year and Transfer applicants. Reporting to the Director of Applicant Services, the Admissions Associate (Seasonal) reviews applications (first-year and transfer) as directed during peak application review periods.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Review applications (first-year and transfer) as directed during peak application review periods
- Accurately applies acceptance/rejection parameters correctly using admissions criteria and trained professional judgment
- Records decisions, conditions of admission, and special codes accurately on the appropriate review screens
- Maintains knowledge of Salesforce, Perceptive Content, and admissions systems
- Handles responsibilities in a timely fashion, organized and professional manner
- Performs application reviews in a manner which allows the students a timely response
- Reviews applicants based on the weekly numbers that come to the Office of Admissions, checks the correspondence file for missing documentation, follows up with applicants for additional information to complete applications promptly and ensuress that all communications go out on a timely basis
- Consistently initiates action to help the office satisfy overall unit goals and objectives
- Oversees day-to-day of the recruitment and yield efforts planned and implemented within assigned EPS Markets
- Plans and coordinates high school/community college visits, fairs and panels, online/virtual events, communications campaigns, and other programs to foster relationships with New Jersey counselors and students

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy
