Job Description
The Graphic Designer is responsible for digital and print design and creation of College publications and marketing materials from concept through production. Duties include: designing, creating, and/or updating event programs, flyers, brochures, ads, logos, promotional and other documents for print, digital and OOD projects; meeting with and updating internal clients; obtaining estimates from and transmitting files to vendors; digital photography and photo archiving; creating, posting, and tracking social media ads; maintaining and updating job status and tracking; and performing specific job tasks and functions unique to the position as assigned by supervisor.

Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Graphic/Digital Design, Communications, or Marketing. (Associate degree with Four (4) years of experience demonstrated through a strong portfolio will be considered.)
Required Experience
Must have two (2) years of relevant work experience in a design studio, ad agency, or corporate setting as demonstrated through a portfolio of print, motion, and digital samples.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
* Working knowledge of Premiere Pro and/or other video editing apps, as well as Microsoft 365.
* Strong oral and written communication and brainstorming skills, teamwork, organization, and ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
* Self-starter with ability to see the "big picture", identify issues and resolve problems
* Outgoing and able to openly engage with students, faculty, and staff for interviews and videos
Preferred Qualifications
Writing for marketing, basic video creation and editing (Premiere and/or iMovie), and social media content creation are a huge plus!
Hours per Week 20
General Weekly Work Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Days and times may be flexible; final schedule to be determined by the supervisor.
