About the opportunity

SWCA is seeking a full-time experienced Senior Marketing Content Developer to join our Content Marketing Group. The group creates and manages a wide variety of external communications including technical blogs, feature stories, project stories, press releases, and more. The successful candidate will be an exceptional writer and content strategist with a knack for breaking down complex topics into compelling, digestible narratives. Working closely with key partners across marketing and stakeholders throughout the organization, this individual will play a critical role driving brand awareness and deepening the SWCA culture by telling the SWCA story using powerful content.

This deadline-driven position requires someone with the ability to prioritize, support multiple projects, be flexible with changing priorities, and work both collaboratively and independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. We are looking for someone who can gather information from various internal and external sources and distill that information into communications that are clear, professional, and impactful.This is a full-time, regular (with benefits), hourly position that can be based out of any SWCA office (in a hybrid work environment) or in a remote (= distributed) location.

What you will accomplish

  • Plan, develop, and implement SWCA's integrated content strategy across several platforms.
  • Create and curate compelling content that strengthens SWCA's brand position and generates engagement with clients, new talent, and existing employees.
  • Develop and nurture pipelines across all channels to track content campaigns from ideation to completion and beyond, working in tandem with leadership and SMEs to develop value proposition, strategy, and feedback loops.
  • Measure and report on content performance and optimize based on results.
  • Manage overlapping deadlines within the team to deliver a high volume of content pieces and communication campaigns.
  • Quality control content pieces created by team.
  • Plan, write, and edit content for SWCA's technical blog; managing authors and deadlines.
  • Edit and ghost-write leadership communications; ability to handle sensitive, confidential communication and embargoed announcements.
  • Apply advanced marketing strategy and best practices to a range of content applications to inform and engage clients, prospects, and potential employees, at times developing multi-pronged campaigns for numerous external communication channels.
  • Work closely with team leaders, and at times direct them to develop the external communication vehicles that highlight projects, service lines, trends, news, company initiatives and more.
  • Edit copy and content from a variety of teammates prior to public distribution, including ensuring adherence to company style standards.
  • Assist with and sometimes lead public relations and media outreach efforts, including drafting press releases and building media contacts lists.
  • Lead and manage a variety of other projects, some of them internal.

Experience and qualifications for success

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communications, marketing, public relations, or related degree
  • At least 7 years of relevant marketing experience, whether within an agency or in-house, including at least five (5) years' experience in a marketing content creation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of and experience with advanced marketing and communications best practices, theories, tactics, and tools.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for a variety of formats and ability to adapt easily to multiple styles.
  • Experience with persuasive writing.

Preferred

  • Experience in public relations and producing persuasive and informative press releases
  • Experience cultivating and maintaining media relations
  • Experience building relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness of a firm, non-profit, or related organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extreme attention to accuracy, detail, and deadlines.
  • Impeccable grammar and punctuation with an added zeal for adhering to style guidelines.
  • Ability to produce content assets quickly, adjust to changes in priority, and find creative ways to repurpose existing content for new uses.
  • Adept at collaborating within a creative team and with outside departments, at times leading projects and people.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Office 365 (Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Stream, etc.).

An employee in this USA position can expect an hourly wage of between $36.04/hr.-$46.64/hr. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
