Vaco is hiring for an Accounting Specialist opportunity in Youngstown OH.
Contract, Onsite
Salary: $22-23/hr

Summary: This position is responsible for performing general accounting functions by performing the essential duties outlined below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following:
Other duties may be assigned.
  • Review and make recommendations on new customer applications, credit limits, and work with credit insurance companies.
  • Ensure all accounts remain in good standing (creditworthiness) and maintain software to reflect terms, limits and credit holds
  • Monitor and update existing accounts for available credit, increased activity, and payment history
  • Monitor DSO to ensure all receivables are collected within agreed terms
  • Issuance of lien waivers and reconciliation to payments and projects
  • Maintain regular communication with corporate legal to ensure lien rights are maintained and preserved
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing and payment related issues
  • Manage customer charge backs and bad debt
  • Pull invoices, material tickets, and other documentation to support invoicing as requested by customer
  • Daily invoicing for shipments sent to customer
  • Manage customer pay portals
  • Manage D&B rating
  • Maintain Credit Insurance - renewal, customer limits, reporting, etc.
  • Daily cash posting on customer accounts
  • Prepare weekly update reports on outstanding accounts receivable to include payment update
  • Responsible for bank and insurance company reporting requirements
  • Maintain relationship with credit insurance company
  • Prompt follow up with customers pertaining to past due accounts
  • Resolve customer issues pertaining to invoicing and non-customer service-related issues
  • Provide support to Accounting Department personnel
  • Calculate commissions for external and internal sales representatives
  • Ohio CAT tax - calculation and filing
  • Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High School or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-4 years in the accounting field


Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
