POSITION SPECIFICS

The research team at the Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our highly productive team as a Research Project Manager. The Nese College of Nursing is large and diverse, with an extensive research portfolio and numerous collaborations and partnerships on and off campus.

We are hiring a Research Project Manager (PM) to manage multiple funded projects focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) care in assisted living settings.

The Research Project Manager plans, develops, and maintains procedures, equipment, and policies that have an impact in all facets of behavioral and clinical research in the long-term care environment under the direction of Dr. Anju Paudel, PhD, MGS, RN.

The PM position will involve a series of responsibilities to ensure that the project goals are accomplished within the established timeframes.

This position will be hybrid with a mix of remote work and in-person activities for recruitment, data collection, and other study activities as needed.

The off-site activities are projected to continue until early 2026 during which the PM will need to travel to study sites located around the Pennsylvania towns and cities of State College, Harrisburg, Hershey,and other nearby locations as needed to accomplish project goals.

The Research Project Manager must comply with vaccination requirements for in-person site visits, as needed. More information can be provided during the interview process.

Shared office space is available at Penn State's University Park campus for those wishing to work in-person when travel to off-site locations is not needed.

The Research Project Manager will work both independently and collaboratively with the research team including project investigators, co-investigators, and project staff to complete this position's responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the recruitment of clinical sites and communicating with thestudy team, stakeholders, and research participants.

  • Assisting with hiring and training project staff and providing guidance and supervision for successful execution of project activities.

  • Assisting with scheduling clinical study procedures and project staff work hours.

  • Tracking study progress and preparing progress reports.

  • Scheduling and leading research team meetings.

  • Ensuring project activities are in compliance with the regulatory standards of funding agencies.

  • Developing and maintaining appropriate compliance documents and reports as required by University and funding agencies.

  • Assisting with IRB application submissions and reporting.

  • Building data collection tools in REDCap, managing and analyzing incoming data, and maintaining data protection and quality.

  • Participating in recruitment, screening, and consent process for research participants.

  • Collaborating on manuscripts and other scientific deliverables.

  • Assisting with administrative tasks (e.g., record-keeping, report preparation, document management).

  • Coordinating with clinical sites and participating in research procedures as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Center for Nursing Research at the Nese College of Nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Must have exemplary computer skills in Microsoft Office 365.

  • Experience with database management; REDCap experience preferred.

  • Excellent effective communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.

  • Individuals with a professional background in healthcare, including one that involved work with/related to older adults, arepreferred.

  • It is also highly preferred that candidates have prior experience with managing funded projects.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
