Summary Objective

The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive IT support across all aspects of technology used within the organization, including desktops, mobile devices, networking, cloud systems, business applications, and audiovisual equipment. This role ensures technology operates efficiently across locations onsite and remotely Responsibilities include system maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user training. A strong service orientation and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, multi-site environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide timely support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and user access issues across multiple platforms.
  • Onsite technical support, installations, and equipment maintenance.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, POS systems, and AV solutions.
  • Respond to and manage IT support tickets using the company's ticketing system, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
  • Support and maintain Microsoft 365, cloud-based apps, VoIP systems, surveillance systems, and other business-critical tools.
  • Collaborate with team members and third-party vendors to resolve escalated issues and complete IT projects.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees, including provisioning/deprovisioning accounts and devices.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and documentation for hardware, software licenses, and configurations.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of IT processes, procedures, and knowledge base documentation.
  • Train end users on the effective use of systems, applications, and best practices.
  • Participate in after-hours support rotations as needed for high-priority incidents or maintenance of windows.
  • Provide weekend on-call coverage on a rotating basis for priority support issues.


Skills and Qualifications:

Required:



  • Experience in IT support or a similar technical role preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across a broad IT stack.
  • Proficiency in Windows desktop environments, Microsoft 365, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Solid understanding of IT supports best practices and customer service principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or with a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to locations.
  • Experience supporting VoIP phones, security camera systems, or POS hardware.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, and remote support tools.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or ITIL) are a plus.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and crawling during onsite support tasks.
  • Visual acuity and dexterity to install and troubleshoot small components.
  • Reliable transportation for travel across the D.C. Metropolitan area
