Great Hill is seeking a remote Data Engineer. The Data Engineer will support enterprise-level data initiatives within the customer's framework, focusing on organizing, analyzing, and optimizing data systems to meet strategic goals. This role involves designing scalable data architectures, enabling cloud-based data solutions, and supporting automation and integration across the PEO STRI portfolio.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:




  • Organize, understand, and analyze enterprise data usage to identify patterns and develop logical groupings and solutions aligned with customer's goals.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data storage processes and procedures for both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring horizontal and vertical scalability.
  • Assist in planning, designing, and evaluating migration/onboarding plans for programs and data to the cloud.
  • Support the design and implementation of automated data pipelines, including CI/CD integration for data-related workflows.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps and Cloud Architecture teams to ensure data solutions align with enterprise standards and security requirements.
  • Assist in defining reference architectures, standards, and interfaces for data reuse across the portfolio.
  • Evaluate and implement data provisioning and management scripts/templates to support infrastructure automation.
  • Participate in enterprise system testing, including data-related performance, scalability, and integration testing.
  • Contribute to the modernization of data services through market research, design, and implementation of innovative data technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and risk management frameworks (RMF 2.0) in all data engineering activities.
  • Support continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and secure configuration of data systems in accordance with DoD and Army directives.



Basic Qualifications:




  • Secret security clearance with the ability for Top-Secret security clearance with SCI.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and cloud-based data storage solutions within the Azure framework.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and RMF compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with large-scale data systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.


Desired Skills:




  • Experience in a DoD or government contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs and DoD data governance policies.
  • Familiarity with multi-domain operations and enterprise-level cloud strategies.
