Summary: The Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and care services to law enforcement trainees at designated FLETC sites. This role operates under the advice and consent of a licensed physician and adheres to New Mexico state regulations and FLETC health service protocols. Responsibilities
 
 
 Essential Job Functions: 
 Deliver athletic training services including injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for traineesOperate under the supervision of a licensed physician who provides medical consultative support; physician must hold a New Mexico medical license corresponding to the trainer's licenseMaintain current standing orders or protocols signed by the supervising physicianProvide documentation and records upon request by the New Mexico Athletic Trainers Practice Board or its designeeMaintain confidential athlete case records in accordance with the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Code of EthicsEnsure proper documentation including:
  
   Standing orders/protocolsPrescription for post-surgical treatment from the athlete's surgeonConsent forms for participation and treatmentComply with FLETC Directive 248-01 regarding health services deliveryCollaborate with Health Unit staff and other medical professionals to ensure continuity of care Qualifications
 
 
 Necessary Skills and Knowledge: 
 Strong documentation, communication, and ethical practice skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced training environment Minimum Qualifications: 
 Must hold a current and valid New Mexico Athletic Trainer licenseMust possess the following qualifications and provide the required documentation with the application:
  
   Proof of current NATABOC certificationProof of current competence in CPR andUse of AEDDemonstrates professional competence by satisfactorily passing the New Mexico jurisprudence examinationDemonstrates professional competency by satisfactorily passing the NATA examinationDHS requires BLS certificationMust have a Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications:
