Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Automated Systems Operator with a strong electrical background to operate, monitor, and maintain advanced automated equipment and machinery within our production environment. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and the ability to interpret electrical schematics, troubleshoot control systems, and ensure continuous, efficient operation of automated processes.
Job Duties:
- Operate, monitor, and adjust automated machinery and control systems to ensure smooth production workflows.
- Perform start-up, shut-down, and routine operational checks on automated systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in machinery, including PLC-controlled systems.
- Interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and control logic to identify system issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on electrical and mechanical components.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for system upgrades, calibration, and modifications.
- Maintain accurate logs of machine performance, downtime, and repairs using CMMS or related systems.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and industry standards.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new automated equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to optimize system performance.
Qualification
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2--5 years of experience operating and maintaining automated equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
- Basic understanding of PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Experience working with SCADA systems or industrial control networks.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- OSHA, NFPA 70E, or equivalent electrical safety certification.
- Experience with robotic or CNC-based automated systems.
