POSITION SUMMARY:


Pepper Construction Company is looking for qualified, intelligent students with a passion for learning about safety in the construction industry to experience life as a Safety Professional with a commercial general contractor.



Safety is our first priority, and we are committed to taking the steps necessary to protect our people and to the continuing effort of striving for an accident-free workplace. The Safety Intern position will play a role in developing and promoting our Pepper Safety Culture. This position is primarily field-oriented and is structured to ensure safe work practices are implemented and enforced on all Pepper Construction projects.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Current college student entering their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year studying Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or Occupational Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and apply new technology
  • Ability to work independently while still contributing and collaborating in a team
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation to and from work-related activities and assignments
  • Ability and desire to work on an active construction site in central Indiana
