Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas School of Social Work has an opening for an Hourly Evaluation Assistant. The person in this position will assist Dr. John Gallagher of the School of Social Work at the University of Arkansas in the evaluation of an expansion of the Sebastian County Veterans Treatment Court and related clinical services delivered by the Guidance Center.

Key tasks include interviewing program participants in Fort Smith, AR at intake, 6-months, and exit; accurately entering data, coordinating with the clinical team from the Guidance Center and other programmatic staff, and assisting Dr. Gallagher in the preparation of reports.

The position is funded by a grant from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration through Sebastian County.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

This position is temporary, part-time, and not benefits-eligible. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or receipt of GED

  • Ability to ask personal questions in a respectful and nonjudgmental manner

  • Ability to participate in professional meetings of the veterans treatment court team

  • Ability to accurately enter data in web-based and computer-based applications

  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of records and information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related degree or currently pursuing

  • Prior experience conducting interviews in behavioral health, criminal justice, or social service settings

  • Prior experience with the veteran or military community

  • Prior experience working in a criminal justice or legal setting

Additional Information:

Graduate students are subject to background checks.

Salary Information:

$20.00 per hour
