Installation, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment within facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and perform the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment and building lighting automation systems. Light bulb and ballast replacement and other electrical duties.
  • Oversee and perform the repair and preventative maintenance of the building Notifier fire alarm system. Work closely with outside vendors to ensure fire systems are operating in a normal state.
  • Supervises outside electrical contractors, engineers and vendors. Coordinates projects with contractors.
  • Maintains inventory of replacement parts. Keeps lights, ballasts and other electrical parts on hand.
  • Assist in most areas of the FM Department when needed. Directing traffic, moving furniture, replacing keys, etc. Provide secondary backup to HVAC Technician.
  • Respond to emergency call outs on evenings and weekends.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Abilities:
  • High school education.
  • Five years' experience in installation, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment within corporate or multi-tenant office facilities.
  • Have a full working understanding of electrical systems: main switchboards to small distribution panels.
  • Know installation and safety codes and construction practices as prescribed in National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), etc.
  • Familiar with lighting controls (NexLight and Wattstopper), data center power infrastructure, emergency backup power systems, fire alarm systems and integrated office furniture systems.
  • Good customer service skills. Working knowledge of industry technology and interest to stay updated on new technology as it develops in this field.
  • Abilities (What physical/mental abilities are necessary to perform jo as stated in the responsibilities - identify equipment used):
  • Physically able to safely handle and climb ladder, scaffolds and other access equipment.
  • Ability to schedule work by priority demands.
  • Must be flexible to schedule work around employee's schedules.
  • Ability to read and understand meters, instruments and electrical drawings.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Contact with others
  • 50% of time. Good interpersonal skills required.
  • Courteous and friendly manner when dealing with customers.
  • Team player with other department employees.
  • Analytical ability required:
  • Perform project and material analysis for small electrical project price quotes.
  • Work with other Facilities Management employees to track the budget allocated to the electrical cost center.
Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $47,000 to $65,667. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees
