Yard Operator

Staffmark is seeking a reliable Yard Operator to join a growing steel distributor in Gastonia, NC. In this role, you'll be responsible for handling materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized yard. Pay: $18.00/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Pick/pull stock materials and operate saws/bevellers
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
• Maintain inventory and stock designated yard areas
• Read and interpret pipe stencils and tape measures
• Keep work areas clean and organized
• Operate forklifts and other yard equipment (must be certified or able to obtain certification)
• Follow all safety procedures and report issues to management
• Perform general maintenance and other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Forklift experience preferred (certification required)
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail
