Government Accounting Compliance, Vice President

Key Role:

Ensure strict adherence to government accounting regulations and compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).Oversee all aspects of government accounting compliance, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing regulatory filings, and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate risk.Serve as a liaison to the government for issues relating to government accounting compliance and serve as a subject matter expert in the areas of government accounting compliance to leaders across the Booz Allen Hamilton enterprise. Oversee comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to government accounting regulations and standards. Review and monitor policies and practices to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary. Lead the preparation and submission of all government regulatory filings, including incurred cost submissions and cost accounting standards disclosures. Oversee business systems and prepare the business for audits and reviews. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal and finance teams, to assess the impact of new regulations and ensure timely compliance. Oversee internal audits and reviews to assess compliance with government accounting regulations and identify areas for improvement. Provide guidance and training to finance and accounting, and business teams on compliance requirements and best practices. Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies and auditors during compliance reviews and audits. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with government contract cost accounting

  • Experience working with DCAA and DCMA auditors and leadership and responding to government audit requests and reports

  • Knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, CAS, and their application

  • Knowledge of DFARS business systems and internal controls

  • Ability to communicate and present findings to different audiences at various levels throughout the firm and externally

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience navigating complex government accounting regulations, such as FAR, DFARS, CAS, or DCAA requirement

  • Experience negotiating indirect rate settlements and executing contract closeout

  • Experience leading and managing a high performing team of accounting and compliance professionals

  • Experience with accounting principles and practice, including financial reporting and auditing standards

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Possession of excellent leadership, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills

  • CPA License
