MH: Physical Therapy OP-(Full Time, Days) - Job Summary: The Coordinator-Therapy Services serves as a liaison for collaboration of central insurance verification representatives, registration coordinators, and management of schedulers. Reviews scheduling daily to maximize productivity of staff while meeting regulatory guidelines. Manages system operations between scheduling, referral coordination and Patient Business Office (PBO) departments to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction from intake to treatment to discharge. Develops systems to facilitate collection and completion of 700-701 forms to meet regulatory compliance. Works as liaison with PBO to ensure patient accounts are open when patient arrives. Implements systems to ensure necessary communication with referral sources. Collaborates with Director in ensuring maintenance of adequate supplies for day-to-day operations. Ensures accuracy in billing procedures. Assists Director with Quality Improvement programs and data collection. Collaborates with Coordinator of Program Development and Marketing to ensure positive patient relations implement guest relations programs. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Associate's Degree in related field preferred. Minimum two years outpatient rehabilitation scheduling and billing experience required. Minimum one year supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, proficient in word processing, spread sheet and presentation software, able to keyboard 50-60 wpm with minimal errors. Strong leadership abilities. Ability to exercise judgment in sensitive and confidential matters. Must be a self-starter who perceives a need and takes initiative to accomplish the task. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate and troubleshoot basic office and patient care equipment required for the position; perform required patient care activities related to the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
