We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a VP Video Production and Distribution on our Marketing & Member Experience team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

The VP Video Production and Distribution is responsible for the
transformation of our video operations into a best-in-class, brand-and
business-driving engine by establishing the vision, strategic priorities and
execution of a video and audio strategy. This role will consolidate and
elevate the current video strategy and execution setting the creative and
operational bar for how we produce, distribute, and optimize video content
across all channels. The VP will oversee our in-house video studio operation,
enhance production value, work across the enterprise on new video and audio concepts,
and develop tailored distribution strategies that grow audience, engagement,
and membership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Video & Production Strategy

* Lead the creation and execution of the enterprise-wide video and audio strategy.

* Unify video production efforts to create a centralized, efficient, and brand-consistent video operation.

Content & Creative Development

* Partner with internal stakeholders and external partners to conceptualize and execute a slate of compelling, brand-aligned video and audio content that supports marketing, membership, and mission-driven objectives.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and design, to script and integrate multimedia content into various channels and campaigns.

* Partner with business units to identify key content that can be leveraged.

* Drive a step-change in the creative and technical quality of our content, aligning with the brand's positioning and strategic goals.

* Develop and execute platform-specific video strategies (e.g., YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, owned channels) to maximize reach, engagement, and conversions.

* Provide regular updates to senior leadership on stakeholder engagement activities, key metrics, and potential risks or opportunities.

* Act as a thought leader within the organization, educating and influencing on the importance and impact of Videos and audio content.

* Champion new video formats and technologies that position the organization at the forefront of digital storytelling in healthcare.

Operations

* Establish and/or maintain the Video and audio standards and policies to ensure consistency cross the brand.

* Lead and optimize the in-house video studio, ensuring high-quality production processes, staffing, scheduling, and technology.

* Establish and oversee end-to-end video distribution plans with data-driven goals and KPIs; continuously test, optimize, and report on performance.

* Responsible for the unit budget

Staff Management

* Lead, mentor and provide management oversight for staff.

* Responsible for setting objectives, evaluating employee performance, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

* Responsible for developing staff knowledge and skills to support career development.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree required, master's degree strongly preferred.

2. 15+ years' experience in video production and distribution, preferably in a brand or agency setting focused on storytelling, audience growth, and business results.

3. Background in healthcare, health media, or purpose-driven content creation highly preferred.

4. 10+ years' experience in people management required; able to attract and develop talent.

5. Proven ability to assess, design, and execute strategic plans that align with business objectives.

6. Proven success creating, producing, and distributing high-impact marketing and promotional videos across various channels including social, digital, and owned media platforms.

7. Strong creative sensibility and hands-on production and directing skills across a variety of formats (interviews, explainers, documentaries, promotional videos, and livestreams).

8. Proven track record of launching new video and audio initiatives and complex projects that drive measurable business outcomes (engagement, acquisition, conversion, brand awareness).

9. Experience managing studio operations, including budgeting, staffing, and technical infrastructure.

10. Deep understanding of audience behavior and platform best practices across YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging formats.

11. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and build consensus across cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

12. Familiarity with membership-based business models and marketing.

The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $234,600 to $316,710. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
