As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff, Marian University's Department of Psychological Science and Counseling invites applications for a Counseling Coordinator position, who will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by principally working to coordinate field and clinical experiences. The coordinator will support students, faculty, and community partners in the successful implementation and supervision of practicum, internship, and clinical placements across the department's undergraduate and graduate programs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and maintaining professional field relationships, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and supporting students' applied learning experiences.

This is a grant-funded position and is only guaranteed for one year (2025-2026 academic year), but depending on future grant opportunities, this position can be extended.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Coordinate all field placement activities for undergraduate and graduate programs, including Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling.
  • Collaborate with faculty to align field experiences with program curriculum, learning outcomes, and licensure/accreditation standards (e.g., CACREP).
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community agencies, school districts, and clinical sites for student placements.
  • Provide onboarding and training to site supervisors to ensure clarity on expectations, policies, and evaluation procedures.
  • Support students in securing placements, including application tracking, matching with sites, and ensuring site suitability.
  • Manage field experience documentation, including affiliation agreements, supervision logs, evaluations, and compliance forms in the Time2Track System.
  • Serve as a liaison among students, faculty advisors, site supervisors, and community partners.
  • Organize and facilitate orientations, workshops, and ongoing training for students related to field readiness and professional development.
  • Assist with program data collection, analysis, and reporting related to field experiences for accreditation and institutional effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of state and national licensing requirements and ensure field experiences meet those standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, assessment efforts, and student support initiatives as needed.


Required Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in counseling, Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience in counseling in either a P-12 school setting or community mental health agency.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with professional standards and ethical guidelines in mental health and school counseling in the State of Indiana and nationally.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure in counseling or a related profession (e.g., LMHC, LCSW).
  • Experience working with CACREP-accredited programs or similar accreditation bodies.
  • Proficiency in data management systems, student tracking platforms, and digital tools (e.g., Tevera, Canvas, Salesforce).
