Job Description As a Project Test Engineer, reporting to the Manager, Test Engineering, you will be responsible for In-circuit test (ICT) development and project team support for New Product introductions (NPI), continuation engineering product changes, and equipment replacement. You will lead, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting printed circuit board assemblies on the HP3070 platform which is used globally to test Rockwell Automation PCBA's. You'll provide direct engagement and support to assigned project business units during early product development to ensure testability inputs are incorporated into the PCB design.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for continuously improving the speed, cost and quality of the processes involved in the In-circuit testing of New Product pilots and prototypes.
- Address PCBA testability and required test deliverables.
- Actively participate in the New Product design evaluation process.
- Provide Design for Test (DfT) feedback and requirements to the product team during the design development to assure testability and test coverage.
- Based on the design requirements develop a plan to test completed assemblies.
- Manage and communicate project timelines and action plans effectively to delivery cost effective test solutions on schedule and budget.
- Help develop and implement departmental strategic plans, expenses, and capital budgets. Help successfully manage test strategies to meet financial objectives.
- Prepare capital project budgets and maintain cash flow responsibly.
- Develop and implement strategies for the procurement and installation of PCBA-related capital equipment required for Rockwell production facilities. Procure, consolidate, and retire capital test equipment.
- Develop and debug HP3070 test software to provide a robust, reliable, and repeatable manufacturing test process.
- Create and release documentation on the test solution including a test specification to document PCBA testing and coverage.
- Use Lean Six Sigma tools for test equipment qualification, test system problem solving, and identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities.
- Provides strategic manufacturing technical support to resolve crisis downtime situations in manufacturing production.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
- The ability to travel 10% of the time
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience as a test engineer contributing on a team-oriented multiple project environment, including design and development of In-circuit test solutions
- Candidate must have the ability to read and interpret New Product designs consisting of electronic circuit schematics, bills of materials, and design and functional specifications
- Ability to evaluate a product and develop end-to-end ICT validation strategies
- Knowledge of electronic hardware design processes and mechanical design concepts
- PMP certification
