Summary

The Manager, LTL Express will oversee the day-to-day operations of DSV's transportation and logistics division, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This position will be responsible for managing staff, developing, and implementing operational policies and procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the transportation and logistics division, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor and maintain operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to ensure that all team members are working effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics, including productivity, cost, and quality, and develop plans to improve performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors, ensuring that all parties are informed and satisfied with the services provided.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales and customer service, to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working together effectively.


  • Continuously searches for ways to improve operational processes, define structure and increase productivity.



Educational background / Work experience



  • 5+ years' experience in transportation brokerage, or third-party logistics field with comprehensive knowledge of LTL, Truck Load, and current trucking marketplace.
  • 5 years' experience in management or similar role.
  • College degree or equivalent experience in lieu of education.



Skills & Competencies



  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational issues and challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in using transportation management software, such as TMS or WMS.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies is a plus.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with transportation management software.



Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. Must be able to travel by plane and automobile.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $93,500 - $141,000 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus program.
