Strategy Planning Principal

Summary:

Under limited supervision, provides leadership in the development of the organization's strategic plan(s)

Additional Summary:

Successful professionals in this organization specialize in dealing with ambiguity, taking new ideas from concept to execution, leveraging multiple sources of data to develop strategic recommendations, project managing large initiatives, and successfully communicating (both written and verbally) with senior leaders. Additionally, collaboration both within and outside of the InfoSec organization, including partnering with other functions across the FedEx Enterprise to include, but not limited to: Data and Technology, Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Legal, and others.

Essential Functions:

• Conducts environmental scans, organizational positioning, analysis and other studies.
• Develops concepts into strategies including quantitative analysis and recommendations; screens plans for strategic fit, feasibility and profitability, prior to presentation to senior management.
• Coordinates input from all major business units to facilitate the integration of individual business unit plans, best practices, and global and multi-discipline perspectives.
• Conducts external research and quantitative analysis as required. Identifies, researches, analyzes, and makes
• recommendations to support the organization's growth objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Strategic Decision Making:

• Data-Driven Decisions:Use data and analytics to inform strategic project decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Scenario Planning:Develop and evaluate different project scenarios to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities.
• Innovation:Encourage innovative thinking and problem-solving within the project team to overcome obstacles and enhance project outcomes.

Change Management:

• Change Control:Implement change management processes to handle project changes systematically and minimize disruption.
• Impact Assessment:Assess the impact of changes on project scope, timeline, and budget, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Adaptability:Ensure the project team is adaptable and responsive to changing project requirements and external conditions.

Stakeholder Management:

• Stakeholder Identification:Identify and engage all relevant stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and executives.
• Communication:Maintain transparent and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
• Conflict Resolution:Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise between stakeholders.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress against established milestones and deliverables.
• Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive project reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, successes, and areas for improvement.
• Quality Assurance:Implement quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.

1. Build out InfoSec Portfolio management discipline, align on overall InfoSec metrics, seasoned project and program management skills, experienced strategic analysis and develop and manage Secure By Design role-based training plan.
2. Executive level experience and leadership and business acumen maturity. Continued refinement of InfoSec's forward-looking strategy, governance and oversite for the InfoSec Pod in the IT DRIVE domain.
3. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Proficiency in analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and extracting actionable insights. Familiarity with tools like Excel or SQL for data manipulation and analysis is essential. Data Visualization: The ability to present data findings clearly and effectively through visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to aid decision-making.
4. Acting on behalf of the CISO's Chief of Staff to answer inquiries.
5. Project Management: Being able to manage analysis projects, from scoping requirements to delivering results on time, helps in collaborating with cross-functional teams and meeting deadlines.
6. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks early and creating mitigation strategies help prevent project setbacks.
7. Leadership: Leading teams, delegating tasks, motivating team members, and addressing conflicts require strong leadership skills to keep everyone aligned and productive.

• Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies, regulators, and industry consortiums to influence and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies.
• Interpret and apply evolving cybersecurity laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., NIST, CMMC, FISMA) to enterprise security programs.
• Minimum 8-10 years of cybersecurity leadership experience, including direct engagement with U.S. federal and/or state regulatory bodies.
• Proven track record in managing compliance with government cybersecurity frameworks, regulations, and directives.
• Experience leading security initiatives in regulated industries (e.g., defense, energy, financial services, healthcare).

Minimum qualifications:

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) or more years equivalent work experience in information technology or business environment including project management, quantitative analysis, forecasting, process improvement or market/competitive analysis.
