As the Shipping Coordinator, you will oversee and coordinate all shipping activities, including domestic and international shipments, rail car movements, training records management, and communicate with internal teams and external carriers to ensure compliance with regulations and delivery of products. You will be located at PPG's Barberton plant and will report to the Department Supervisor. - Be the primary contact for carriers, ensuring shipping on time and in-full (OTIF) performance.
- Coordinate rail car movements and provide the local railway with car moves for the entire plant.
- Compile and prepare a comprehensive packet of paperwork for Distribution Operators, including T.O., BOL, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Import/Export documentation (IMO), dock receipts, seals, SOLAS documentation, and any other required paperwork.
- Be the system administrator for TRIM, providing training coordinators with appropriate access for PPG and Contractors
- Obtain lot numbers from multiple supervisors and ensure the correct lot is selected in SAP.
- Enter shipment information into SAP and close/PGI shipments once they leave the plant.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- 1+ year of shipping, order entry, or similar experience
- Proficiency in SAP and Oracle systems preferred;
- Experience with shipping documentation and compliance preferred
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and shipping compliance is a plus
