Overview

Summary of Position:
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, who works under the direction of the Quality Manager, and in daily collaboration with and support of the site Quality Manager, will work well in a cross-functional team environment and will drive our supplier quality program efforts. This position will work independently to implement right-sized processes withing TA Instruments and resolve Supplier Quality related issues in a timely manner and drive internal and external customer satisfaction.

Description:
This position is hands-on in a fast-paced environment which will interact with external suppliers and multiple internal functions (Engineering, Procurement, Site Quality, Manufacturing, and sister manufacturing sites) to resolve supplier quality issues.
Primary responsibilities will be to analyze the current state at the site, assess needs based off risk and value, and drive improved supplier quality processes. This position will also be responsible for the measure of supplier performance, implementation of corrective actions when needed, and draft quality agreements with critical suppliers to define the requirements between the supplier and TA Instruments, a division of Waters Corporation. The position is also responsible for performing quality audits on suppliers to ensure adherence to TA Instruments' expectations. Supplier Quality Engineers act as liaison for quality issues between our production areas, and our RDE, sustaining and test engineering departments and suppliers.


Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to

Responsibilities:

    Drive implementation of improved supplier quality management tools.
  • Lead Supplier investigations to ensure root causes are determined and appropriate corrective actions are implemented to prevent repeat non-conformances. Ensure effectiveness checks are in place and robust.
  • Ensure execution of the Supplier Product Qualification Process, where needed.
  • Work as a driver to ensure suppliers meet timelines and requirements and not negatively impact TA Instruments' production schedule and overall business needs.
  • Execute effective Supplier Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations.
  • Determine the adequacy of part acceptance activities and make necessary improvements.
  • Review methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of supplier provided material.
  • Confirmation of acceptance that inspection criteria are appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively within the site project teams as well as Sr. Leadership through project reviews and status reports including preparing reports and supplier quality metrics.
  • Conduct supplier audits to determine effectiveness of supplier process controls and effectiveness of their processes and systems (both qualification and ongoing maintenance audits).
  • Assist in the qualification and disqualification of suppliers in coordination with the Procurement team, initiating improvement plans when necessary.
  • Manage the PCN (Supplier Change Notification) process


The successful candidate will have a combination of knowledge, skills, and experience that would include the following

Education:

  • Qualified individual is preferred to have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineer, etc.), Supply Chain, Business, Mathematics, Science, or technical field. Experience is a requirement.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, or related field.
