Job Description
The Department of Computer Science at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Missouri, is seeking outstanding applicants for multiple non-tenure-track (NTT) assistant or associate teaching faculty positions with an appointment start date of Spring 2026 or Fall 2026. The primary duties of the job are:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses,
- Advising students, and
- Service to the department and campus
Teaching faculty may also optionally pursue pedagogical research. Missouri S&T's Department of Computer Science (https://cs.mst.edu) has a proud 50+ year history of positively impacting society through groundbreaking research and advancing the quality and breadth of its educational mission, granting an ABET-accredited BS, as well as MS and PhD degrees. An active recruitment strategy has resulted in the department now being one of the largest on campus, with over 700 students. Nearly a thousand separate companies sought our Computer Science graduates during the last academic year, including multiple national labs with whom we have long-established hiring pipelines as well as funded research collaborations. The department has nearly 5000 successful and engaged alumni and is strongly supported by the Academy of Computer Science, a 40-member organization dedicated to developing key programs in the department with financial support, and active engagement and advocacy.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must hold a MS degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a closely related field, by the appointment start date. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of high-quality teaching and university service. Candidates from industry with a strong academic experience are encouraged to apply as well.
