Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Applications are being accepted for the following vacancies for the Fall 2025 semester on the Faculty staff of Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. Department: Computer Learning Center Educational Specialist HV-FAC-82025 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in specified content area/field (Computer Sciences/Computer Education or Computer related). Minimum of one year experience working in a computer educational environment, at least two years of experience teaching at the post-secondary level. Experience in developmental education program/learning center is preferred. Experience with D2L Brightspace or other LMS is preferred. A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access is essential. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBLITIES: The Education Specialist reports to the Interim Dean of the Learning Commons or his/her designee and performs the following duties: * Provides instructional support to students seeking assistance with technical needs and computer related content and programs, both in-person and remotely; * Develops, delivers, and monitors learning activities to students seeking assistance, both in-person and remotely, in area of expertise; * Develops innovative activities/programs to support student learning, collaborating with academic departments and student service offices as appropriate; * Selects, develops and updates instructional materials to support course instruction within your content area; * Selects, develops and updates self-paced instructional materials for students seeking assistance in content area; * Assists Learning Center users in accessing and utilizing instructional materials; * Develops and conducts workshops to improve students' skills in area of expertise; * Helps with the day-to-day activities within content area, and assists in opening and closing the Center, as needed; * May include evening, weekend and daytime hours; * Performs other duties as assigned. This is a Part-Time position with an hourly rate for Fall 2025 academic year position is $39.75.
