Scholarship and Social Media Coordinator

In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, or related field. Two to three (2-3) years' work experience, preferably in a small Community College Foundation. Expert familiarity with Academic Works, Raiser's Edge, SCT Banner database systems required. Experience administering scholarship programs is a must. Ability to manage sensitive student and donor information with discretion. Knowledge of all social media platforms and best practices towards optimal use for engagement, community growth, donor base expansion, and online giving. The ability to evaluate and analyze postings for effectiveness is a plus. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications required. Highly organized professional with excellent written and oral communications, interpersonal and administrative skills.

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Scholarship and Social Media Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and Donor Relations or their designee and performs the following duties:

Scholarship Program
* Responsible for overall administration of the Foundation's scholarships and awards program; including preparing scholarship and fund agreements as directed and working with the Advancement Operations Manager to generate and send annual statements and reports to donors.
* Sets the schedule for each application cycle, cloning process and updates, prepares and distributes scholarship/award information and application forms.
* Coordinates campus wide emails, flyers and notifications regarding the scholarship application cycle. Promotes the scholarship program at orientation sessions, open houses, information sessions and other campus events.
* Maintains and updates the scholarship program on the college website and provides on-line presence for scholarship opportunities.
* Collects and reviews all completed applications. Communicates, coordinates, prepares and presents materials for the Scholarship Reviewers and Scholarship Committee.
* Notifies recipients of awards and gathers student thank you notes, sending to donors. Under the direction of the Dir. Of Development and Donor Relations, plans and executes the Scholarship Reception and any other recognition ceremonies that may arise.
* Provides award information to Financial Aid in a timely way for disbursement to students' accounts, communicating and resolving any issues that may arise.
* Collaborate with the Admissions Office, Registrar, Financial Aid Office, Finance Office, Bursar, Academic Affairs, and any other departments that may interface with the scholarship program.
* Advises students regarding available scholarship opportunities through the Foundation and Admissions Offices.
* Research and include relevant external scholarship opportunities listed on website.
* Works with Advancement Operations Manager to coordinate endowment fund reports internally and externally, including responsibility for fund audit as directed by the Finance Manager, work with Director of Development and Donor Relations to send reports to donors and help steward scholarship donors.
* Assist the Finance Manager with any Departmental Awards processes as needed.
* Assist the Director of Development and Donor Relations with requests for student emergency funds as needed.
* Serves as staff liaison, with the Director of Development and Donor Relations, for the Foundation Board's Scholarship Committee.

Social Media
* Assist in developing and executing social media strategies across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube), maintain a content calendar to ensure timely delivery of posts and campaigns.
* Create, schedule, and publish content (images, videos, stories, reels, etc.) using tools like Hootsuite, Later, or Sprout Social.
* Monitor social channels for trends, conversations, and engagement opportunities.
* Respond to comments and messages in a timely, brand-appropriate manner.
* Track performance metrics and prepare regular reports on engagement, growth, and ROI to help inform ongoing social media strategies.
* Collaborate with Communication/Marketing Department to ensure brand consistency.
* Conduct competitor analysis and stay current on platform updates and best practices.
* Design and execute on-line giving campaigns, including Giving Tuesday and other appeals. Plan and execute contests and promotions that engage alumni and others with the college and expand the Foundation's donor base.
* Maintain a content calendar to ensure timely delivery of posts and campaigns.

Serves as a member of the Foundation Team, assisting with all Foundation initiatives, projects and events as needed, including nights and weekends, any other duties as assigned.

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $48,000-$51,000.
