DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this advanced administrative position, you will provide supervision to the Mental Health Department staff concerning program planning, interpreting overall departmental objectives, and advising on problems related to the coordination of the Mental Health Program, including emergency services for crisis intervention. This involves reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating mental health program objectives, policies, and operations of organizational segments in the Northumberland County BH/IDS Program; evaluating program effectiveness and recommendations for potential changes in program policies and procedures; and planning, developing, and implementing departmental in-service training and activities for the Mental Health Department. Communication and collaboration are key as you will serve as our liaison with governmental and private community health and welfare agencies, organizations and facilities; meet with regional program personnel to ensure that BH/IDS Programs are in compliance with all relevant regulations and contractual agreements; coordinate the Mental Health Department operations with other departments within the Human Services Agency; and discuss program operations with staff and review reports and other data on program plans, operations, and achievements for their benefit. Our team will also rely on you to develop grant proposals for funding services outside of the traditional funding streams, authorize and approve funding for services and programs, and assist with budget development and monitoring fiscal expenditures. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1; or
- Three years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
