DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Welder, you will perform routine and specialized welding repair and fabrication assignments. Work includes welding, brazing, soldering, cutting, tempering, and shaping ferrous and non-ferrous metals through the operation of acetylene, arc, tungsten inert gas (TIG) or metal inert gas (MIG) welding, and related shop equipment. Duties involve laying out equipment and materials and determining work processes to fabricate parts and equipment; cutting, shaping, welding, and repairing metal structures or parts for a wide range of applications; and assigning and demonstrating welding related tasks to other trades and maintenance employees. Work is performed independently and checked in progress and upon completion for adherence to guidelines, quality, and timeliness standards. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
